Boulder Sports Performance's Weekly Updates

What great representation today at the Denver 1/2 Marathon by TWO Boulder Sports Performance Members, Dan Grigsby (14th Overall) & Tasha Riggs. With the course being approximately half a mile TOO long, both these members were strong and focused on their successful completion. Also, acting as the official half-marathon pacers were Running Coach Jeff Abbott (1:40) and Tony Stafford (1:50).

Boulder Sports Performance also had some of our mountain cyclists kicking butt 2 weeks ago, BSP Members David Asselin and Pete Fennel. Also taking on the triathlon circuit (both on the roads and mountains) have been James Kentro and Diane Eswasko. Please email info@bouldersportsperformance.com with any race results to include all endurance-type races. As Boulder Sports Performance grows, please keep other BSP Members updated for progress on how the training is helping you complete these races successfully.

Unfortunately, those that are participating in the Boulder 10K, Half Marathon and Marathon at the Boulder Reservoir this coming weekend will have to adjust as the race has been postponed. From the race director, Jeff Mason..."It now appears to be extremely unlikely that the Boulder Marathon event will happen at the reservoir next weekend. The 4 Mile Fire has taken its toll on City of Boulder and Boulder County employees. All city and county resources have been stretched as a result of the fire. These city and county employees have worked long, hard hours fighting the most destructive fire in the history of the state. And though the fire is finally contained, there's still much work to be done by the fire crews. The Boulder Reservoir is currently housing 1,000 firefighters in a "tent city", and it's obvious at this point that many of these people will still be housed at the reservoir at the end of this week."

Lastly, all Boulder Sports Performance Members are invited to meet Dr. Jerry Lynch, author of "Spirit of the Dancing Warrior", Wed., Sept. 15 at 7PM at Jubilee Hall. The presentation: "RUNNING & COMPETING LIKE A CHAMPION: Practical Strategies for Performing your Absolute Best " More information can be found on BSP'spartner, the Boulder Road Runners website.
