Mt. Sanitas Training Review
Today was T-H-E perfect day for Boulder Sports Performance's Mid-day training outside,...not too cold, not too hot. This weeks workout, BSP hit Mt. Sanitas for some uphill climbing. It was also great to see an old Boulder Sports Performance member come out, Mary K., who due to the "ski season" hasn't been able to make it out...guess skiing is more important :-) . After a lite warm-up at the base of the trailhead, today's workout called for short duration, steady runs (2-5 minutes in length) followed immediately by a body weight exercise. The purpose of this particular workout was to elevate the heart rate on the uphill runs and then try to 'recover' while doing the body weight exercises. After reaching approx. 3/4 of the way up (because of time), BSP's group turned around and headed back down slow & steady. This was another challenge as the legs were very fatigued. Keeping concentration and mentally thinking about picking the feet & legs off the ground proved to be more than just downhill running. Awesome work by those that participated and BSP WILL BE making more trips to this location!!!
