Running outside is coming soon... but it may not be here quite yet... at least not everyday! It is still very cold outside, especially in the mornings. If you are physically uncomfortable running outside, then that is a good sign that it is too cold. However, this is a personal threshold and personal preference. "Too cold" is relative and what is freezing to one person may be tolerable for another. When you are getting ready to head outside, check the temperature, but also check the wind chill... it is usually much colder and may be a deciding factor.
That being said, we all know that the treadmill is a bit boring, but it happens to be the nature of the beast. Make up a "workout" on the treadmill instead of just running a constant speed for an hour. Play with the speed, the incline, and with time intervals. Mix in some sit-ups and push-ups off the treadmill in between sprints or endurance intervals.
Make lemonade out of the lemons that are treadmill workouts!
