What do Groundhogs know anyway?

Phil the Groundhog has seen his shadow... AGAIN (blasted rodent)!  Not a big surprise.  Rumor has it that there are so many camera flashes and lights around that it is impossible for Phil not to see his shadow!  Nevertheless, Phil has thus forecasted another 6 weeks of winter for us.

That being said... you might want to invest in some micro-spikes for the bottom of your running shoes for added traction on the snow and ice, that apparently, isn't going anywhere anytime soon.  They are a bit expensive, but so is the doctor's bill when you show up with a sprained ankle, a broken wrist, and a concussion after falling on the ice!  If you feel like I do, and you can't wait to run outside and get off the treadmill, this might be a fun, new, and valuable accessory.  Send the bill to Phil the Groundhog!

Also, make sure you have a hat on when you are running in cold weather.  Despite the very SUNNY days here in Boulder, it is still COLD!  You lose most of your body heat through the top of your head, so keep it covered and get over the embarrassment of hat-hair!

Remember, it is much easier to take off layers if you get too warm, but it is agonizing to run with iced, cramped muscles.  STAY WARM!
